Hi!! It has been a LONG time since I posted on my blog. But, I wanted to start writing again! I enjoy writing reviews on IG but I want to start writing longer reviews or different content here.
Let’s jump right in!
I finished 3 books this week : Skip to the End, Forever Hold Your Peace & The New Mother. I enjoyed all 3 of these books a lot. I started listening and reading the same book so I could see which format of that book I liked better. Then I could recommend not only the book but format as well. Pretty smart thinking on my part if I do say so myself.
I recommend all three books both in the physical/ebook format and the audiobook format. The narrators were great.
All three books were filled with drama. As you may or may not know, I’m a nosey lady. These books were perfect for my nosey lady self.
I happened to read 2 books in 1 week that had to do with neighborhood drama and new mothers. It was a conincidence but what a wonderful coincidence.
Let’s chat The New Mother by Nora Murphy
Next up is If We’re Being Honest
This book tugged at my heart y’all. There so many emotions from so many different characters. This book took me a bit to process. And honestly, my review still isn’t that great. I apologize ahead of time.
This book was only 304 pages but could have easily been twice as long. It takes placIe over one week between Gerry’s funeral and Rebecca’s wedding. There are a lot of characters and each character is struggling with many different & strong emotions when trying to process and deal with the secret that was dropped at the funeral while they are also dealing with their own secrets and/or struggles. It was a fairly emotionally heavy book. Keep that in mind when picking this book up.
I wish I could have read more from Ellen, the widow’s, POV. I would have been interested to read what she was thinking and feeling. Especially since they were married 60 years.
Finally, let’s chat about What the Neighbor’s Saw by Melissa Adelmann
I really enjoyed this book! This had multi POV which you know is my favorite. I loved getting to know the main characters and the relationships with their spouses & neighbors. There were a lot of times I said “what the what”! I didn’t expect that ending. I think I finished this book in a day and a half? I flew through it. I loved the details that Alexis put together about her neighbor Blair. I would never have thought about it like her.
I also really liked that not everything revolved around Teddy’s death.
This is definitely a contender for top 23 in 2023!!
Let me know if you’ve read any of these books or are planning to read them soon. I’d love to chat about them!
